Break installation into observable steps

Show the flat starting orientation, first terminal engagement, forming operations, routing through the enclosure, and final restraint. Identify tools or guides that control the shape. Connect each operation to the movement history. If a step requires reopening a formed region, make that action visible instead of describing the circuit as bent only once.

Use geometry that can be communicated

Label bend direction and radius convention, and identify which face is inside a curve. Coordinate flat and installed models with the drawing so terminal contact sides remain clear. Provide reference views for hidden routing or branches. Avoid relying solely on a perspective rendering that does not reveal the required clearances or assembly order.

Validate the sequence with representative parts

Trial the installation using the actual mating parts, supports, and access envelope. Inspect for pinching, rubbing, unwanted creases, and terminal loading after enclosure closure. Record any point where an operator must improvise. Update the drawing and training reference before repeating the trial, then preserve the accepted sequence with the assembly revision.

Before you release the design

  • Show insertion and fold order explicitly.
  • Identify handling areas and surfaces that require protection.
  • Check the final route after all fasteners are installed.
  • Define the response to a misplaced fold or damaged circuit.

Watch points

  • Do not assume a hand-shaped prototype establishes a repeatable production operation.

Practical questions

Should every flex be preformed before assembly?

Choose the sequence that provides controlled geometry and access for the actual product. Some assemblies need forming guides or intermediate fixtures; others are shaped by defined product supports.

Can an incorrect fold simply be straightened and reused?

Use the approved disposition for the construction and duty. Document the event and inspect or replace as required rather than assuming the extra handling has no effect.
