Separate price differences from specification differences
Check materials, local thickness, finish, reinforcement, electrical test, inspection records and assembly scope line by line. Use cost-driver review to identify one-time work and recurring units. Ask whether tooling, fixtures, packing and shipping assumptions are included in the commercial offer.
List technical exceptions in plain language and assign a decision owner. A substitution may be acceptable after review, but it is not an equivalent quote until its effect on fit, performance and existing evidence is resolved. Preserve the final clarifications with the selected proposal.
